What is the Children’s Fair? The San Angelo Children’s Fair is a long‑running, family‑focused community event filled with fun, games, and community! It strengthens community connection while supporting programs that serve local kids. The Children's Fair acts as a fundraiser for the YMCA of San Angelo while giving other child-based organizations the opportunity to earn funds and raise awareness for their cause/organizations.
SMILEY THE CLOWN
We are looking for an energetic, smiley kiddo to be our Smiley the Clown at the Children's Fair this year. The winner of our Smiley auditions will win a one-year youth membership to the YMCA of San Angelo. We are thrilled to have a child from our community represent the YMCA as the face of this year's Children's Fair! Let the smiles begin!
REQUIREMENTS
- Child within the age range of 7 - 12 years
- Comfortable in front of a camera
- Your child will be featured in our promotional video
- TV/Radio spot will take place
- Child needs to be there on the day of the event to bring a smile and be the face of the Children's Fair *not required to stay the full day.
AUDITION DETAILS
Date: July 9, 2026
Time: 6 pm - 8 pm
Location: San Angelo YMCA Childcare Room
We will host open auditions for Smiley the Clown as part of this year's Children's Fair. All participants should arrive at 5:45 pm. Each audition will last approximately 1 - 2 minutes.
Kids are welcome to create their own version of "Smiley", and they do not have to choose from the ideas below. These examples are simply to help spark creativity:
-Walk like Smiley
-Do a silly wave
-Tell a joke
-Use a funny voice
-Pretend to cheer up someone sad
-Show off their best "Smiley pose"
Costumes are optional. Children are welcome to wear bright, cheerful clothing if they wish, but no special attire is required. A positive attitude and willingness to participate are all that is needed.
